Import & export horses
Move horses between your saves with the ferry harbor in town, what you get paid, and what to do if exporting freezes.
The ferry harbor in town lets you export a horse from one save and import it into another. According to players, exporting pays the same price as selling, and the horse can then be imported in a different save. Some players report the export screen freezing after choosing a horse; if that happens, restart the game and report it with F8.
Where to export a horse#
Go to town, open the harbor (the ferry), click the export button, and choose a horse from your list. The community wiki describes the harbor as the place to export and import horses to and from other saves.
What happens to the horse#
The horse leaves your yard, and players report that you receive the same price as for a normal sale. You can then import it in another save, for example to start a new game with your best horse.
If the export screen freezes#
One player reports that after choosing a horse, the background darkened and nothing could be clicked, and the horse was not saved. No fix has been posted yet. Close and restart the game, send a bug report with F8, and keep a backup of your saves.
Keeping a favourite horse#
There is no retirement field on your own yard; retired horses go to the retirement farm, which counts towards the achievement A Forever Home. Some players export favourite horses instead, as a keepsake or to buy them back in another save.
